Wedding Videography ten most frequently asked questions:

1.      1. What region does ACE Video Production serve?  Otsego, Chenango and Delaware Counties, New York.

2.      2. What coverage is included in a wedding video? For $550 to $650 (see pricing, below), your wedding will be professionally videotaped from the wedding party arriving at the ceremony; until the scheduled events (traditional dances, speeches, interviews with family and friends, cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter) have all occurred.  I base my prices on a 6 hour day (one location) or a 6 ½ hour day (two locations), beginning at the start time of the ceremony.

3. What type of equipment will be usedEquipment used is all full-size, professional broadcast quality.  I use the same Panasonic 3-CCD Pro-DV (high-end digital) camera (Link to: Panasonic Digital Video Camera) that I have used to produce films, documentaries, and commercials for television.  I use broadcast-quality wireless and wired microphones.

4. Is editing available?  The wedding DVD I send to you will include editing.  Your video will be edited on professional equipment and a DVD mailed to you.

5. When will the finished DVD be sent out?  It will take about four to six weeks for you to receive the DVD.

6. Shouldn't I continue to shop around?  Be prepared to hear price quotes of $1,200 to $3,000 in the Catskills/Leatherstocking regions, (see links to competitors, below) and $2,000 to $5,000 in the N.Y.C. area.  On-line rate quotes anywhere near my prices (around $600 to $800) are usually for the ceremony only.

7. Is a deposit required?  Most other videographers require a deposit, I go by your promise that you will probably be at your own wedding.  Please pay by check (on the wedding day) to: ACE Video Production.   All funds are held in a separate business account until one week after the DVD is mailed out.

8. Are multiple broadcast quality cameras available like the competitors advertise?  Two broadcast-quality cameras would be $1,000.

 9. How much does it cost?

Pricing for wedding videography as described above is very reasonable:

$600 for ceremony and reception in one location (6 hours).

$650 for ceremony and reception in separate locations (6 ½ hours).

Ceremony only is $350.

Special Discount:

$550 for ceremony and reception in one location (6 hours),

10.  Are there other videographers in the area?  How much do they charge?  See for yourself (click on links):

·         http://www.truecolorsvideo.com/weddingpackages.html  (Binghamton) $850 for ceremony only.

·         http://www.truespiritmedia.com/pricing.html  (Binghamton) $1,250 for a similar package.

·         http://www.jaredspadea.com/video/Pricing.html  (Utica) $800 for ceremony only.

·         http://www.formanstudio.net/?page=weddings.html (Cooperstown) has a $2,995 package.

In speaking to people in various aspects of the wedding services business, I hear, time after time; “a videographer charging around five or six hundred dollars for coverage of the ceremony and reception will stay busy serving clients that would otherwise choose not to have their wedding videotaped.”  I have also found that many couples would like to include videography in their wedding plans, but can not spend over a thousand dollars (or more!) on that service.  If they could find a reliable, high-quality videographer at around the five or six hundred dollar limit, they would not hesitate.
