A
very brief bio:
After
twenty years (1987-2007) as a teacher in New York City, over twenty-five years (since
1980) as a wedding and event videographer serving the
NYC metropolitan area, and
ten years (1997-2007) producing short films for public television; I moved myself and my family to Franklin, New York in Delaware
County (in June of 2007).
I now serve this region as a part-time educator (N.Y.S. Permanent Certified Teacher of Social Studies, Elementary Ed. and Gifted & Talented) and as an independent videographer. I have been lucky to combine the two; I am currently teaching video production in several school districts in Delaware/Otsego Counties.
My portfolio of
professional media production experience dates back to college (graduated Stony
Brook 1982), where I minored in
Broadcast Studio Production while majoring in History/Political Science.
Videography experience also includes hundreds of weddings; coverage of
artistic, community and cultural events; and corporate, promotional and training
videos/DVDs. This part-time work came in very handy during the time I
earned my Master's in Education (from Long Island University). Later, my
parallel careers of teaching and media production blended in the
creation of short films, produced by my students, broadcast on Channel 25
WNYE (a PBS affiliate) in
Equipment used in all of my video productions includes, at minimum, one of my truly high-end SD broadcast-quality professional cameras and microphones, digital editing in a professional studio, rendered to archival quality DVD. Please see my services page (click here) for professional video equipment.
For educators interested in utilizing my media production experience, references from my NYC teaching career, as well as from local area schools and professional videography clients are available upon request, as are copies of my credentials.
